(06:55) MONTEREY COUNTY – Monterey County transportation officials have launched a program offering free bicycle and skateboard racks, bicycle repair stations and support for bicycle rack art. The Bicycle Secure Program is aiming to encourage active transportation and reduce air pollution and traffic congestion. The Transportation Agency for Monterey County pays the purchasing price of the racks, lockers, and repair stations, while applicants are responsible for installing and maintaining equipment. Businesses, schools, non-profits and other public agencies are encouraged to apply. Applications are available at tamcmonterey.org and are due February 4. (S.G.)
