(09:55) Monterey – The South Monterey County Fire Protection District and Cal Fire responded to a wildland fire on Cooperhead Canyon Road, across from Bryson Hesperia Road, in the community of Lockwood. The fire started at around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. Fire crews contained the fire to 8 acres around 4:44 and shortly before 6 p.m. all hot spots had been put out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
