(16:00) SANTA CRUZ- Santa Cruz police are investigating a hash oil lab explosion that left a resident severely burned Wednesday. The incident took place shortly after 8 p.m. when fire fighters responded to a report of an explosion at an apartment on the 100 block of Lindberg Street. Upon arrival crews found sprinklers had extinguished the blaze and worked to rescue a severely burned victim from the lab, which had been operating in a garage. The victim was airlifted to a bay area burn unit. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact Santa Cruz police.
