(10:10) Santa Cruz – A man suffered fatal injuries when he was hit by a car last night in Santa Cruz. The driver, 29 year-old Violeta Cervante, was going westbound on Freedom Boulevard when she hit the 34 year-old bicyclist. Cervante attempted to escape, but police were able to locate her after receiving a vehicle description. Cervante told police she was distracted because she was using her phone. Police are still investigating if other factors played a role in the accident.
