(18:28) MONTEREY- A rise in packages thefts is taking place in Central Coast cities. Authorities say that reported package thefts typically go up during the holiday season. The Monterey Police Department is advising residents to have packages to their work place if possible. If that is not an option request that the package requires a signature upon receipt, track the package, and alert a neighbor of expected shipments. A video surveillance system is also recommended.
