(17:55) MONTEREY- A U.S. Air Force KC-10 Extender jet took off from the Monterey Airport yesterday (Thursday) after a two day lay over for repairs. The jet, one of the Air Forces’ largest at 171 feet long with a 165 foot wingspang was enroute to Travis Air Force base Tuesday night when it made an emergency landing in Monterey due to smoke in the cockpit. A spokesperson said the problem was in the hydraulics. The problem was repaired and the jet resumed its original flight plan.
