Doug Winfrey and Dr. Glidden discuss a news story regarding a study on acetaminophen. The study from New Zealand supports the conclusions of an earlier study on a link between the use of acetaminophen and asthma and allergies. The previous study looked at a link between the drugs use in infants and a later development of asthma and allergies. The current study done on 320,000 13 to 14 years found that compared to those not using the drug kids who took it at least once a were two and a half times more likely to develop asthma symptoms. They were also twice as likely to have eczema, rhinitis and itchy watery eyes.
