The damage caused by the high winds on Sunday is still being assessed. Wind gusts of up to 80 miles-an-hour knocked over trees and brought down power lines. One of those trees that came down was a 75-foot Cypress tree that buried 3 Teslas, and damaged at least the front of a Capitola home. Another tree landed on the Markey Community Center at Resurrection Church In Aptos….during the Sunday Mass. Sunset and New Brighton State Beaches were also closed yesterday due to trees and large branches down there as well.
