A Castroville man has pleaded guilty to a 1990 murder, and a 1993 kidnapping. 57 year-old Arsenio “Archie” Pacheco Leyva was charged with the First-Degree murder of a 14 year-old girl who’s body was found in an Artichoke field in 1990…..just 3 years after Leyva was on probation for unlawful intercourse with two 14 year-old girls. He also pleaded guilty to a 1993 attempted kidnapping of a 13 year-old girl in Salinas whom he intended to commit rape. Leyva was arrested in Mexico back in 2014, but fought the extradition to the united states until May of 2018.
