CSUMB Officer on Leave Following ‘Failure to Act’ Complaint- 12/04/14 7:00 S.G.

A Cal State Monterey Police Officer remains on leave after failing to use his Taser on a student. Officers were called to Petersburg Court in February following reports of a suicidal student, who was non-compliant and armed with a knife. The corporal allegedly refused to deploy his Taser to subdue the individual. Following the incident, officers filed a ‘failure to act’ complaint. An investigation looking into the officer’s actions is ongoing. The policeman is a 20-year law enforcement veteran.
