Student Move-In Event Takes Place with New Protocols
Seaside, Calif., August 20, 2020 — CSUMB’s annual Move-In event, in which students move into housing in preparation for next week’s start of the new (and virtually-taught) academic year, is August 21 and 22. It will be different this year.
- We are conducting it with drive-thru check-in. Students and their families will stay in their vehicles and be checked in through a contactless process.
- Check-in times will be staggered so as not to create a bottleneck of people on-site at any one time.
- Our Student Housing and Residential Life team will be on-site wearing face coverings and other PPE to provide a safe experience for staff, students, and supporters.
- Students will be moving into only the East Campus neighborhoods of Frederick Park 1 and 2, and not the residence halls on the main campus.
Due to COVID-19 safety measures, smoke from nearby fires, and emergency crews on campus, we want to reduce students’ interactions, and we anticipate a low-key and brief check-in process. CSUMB’s Student Housing & Residential Life web page contains more information about student housing and move-in.
