If your holiday can’t be merry without the taste of our local Dungeness crabs, you may be out of luck. Weather and waves have conspired against the crab boats, keeping them in-shore when customers really want them out harvesting the crab pots. Media reports say crabs are hard to find and expensive. But the supply should ease when – and if – the North Coast in opened to crab fishing. That area has been closed because the crabs being caught there were too small to sell.
