A claim was filed this week against monterey county, by a former water official. The claim asserts that county officials knew about actions steve collins took, which have now brought accusations of conflict of interest. The conflict relates to collins doing consulting work for “R.M.C. Water and Environment”, which was ultimately chosen as the project manager for a regional desalination plant. Collins claims that county officials knew about the work, and that he RECUsed himself from conflicting votes. He also says that the county owes him 48-thousand dollars in unpaid wages.
