The California Highway Patrol is investigating two fatal accidents that occurred in San Benito County over the weekend. The first incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Shore Road near Lovers Lane in Hollister. Officials say a 32-year old driver struck a woman walking in the roadway. The driver stayed on the scene and was cooperative with officers. The second incident occurred Sunday morning in San Juan Bautista. Officials say the body of 41-year-old Sean Messina of Morgan Hill was discovered in a ditch with his motorcycle near San Juan Bautista Highway near Chittenden Road. Officers believe Messina failed to negotiate a turn and was ejected when he hit a guardrail. Anyone with information on either accident is to contact CHP.
