Based on the Trump Administration’s decision today to tighten the working requirements for the Federal Food Stamp Program, such benefits could be dropped for hundreds of thousands of people across the country. The law still allows states to apply for waivers of the time-limit (due to economic conditions); and under U-S-D-A’s new rule, states retain their statutory flexibility to waive the time-limit in areas of high unemployment.
