Although President Trump signed a memorandum ordering census takers not to include undocumented immigrants in the current census, Census Teams in Monterey county say they remain committed to counting every single person in the county, regardless of their legal status. The data gathered by Census Takers is protected by law, and so it cannot lead to undocumented immigrants being deported.
The Census count ends in October, and so far only 62.2 percent of the country has responded.
