Central Coast farmers and environmentalists will be gathering today to celebrate a restoration demonstration project in the Salinas River. Organizations including the Nature Conservancy, the Salinas River Channel Coalition, and the Monterey County Water Resource Agency have been working together to establish the project. The demonstration broke ground on October 10th The collaborative effort will build river management units throughout the rest of the 94 mile river channel over the coming year.
