Some 1,500 people gathered Sunday morning at the Mount Madonna Center in Watsonville in memory of Baba Hari Dass, the silent monk, teacher and guru who died on Sept. 25, at age 95 at his home in Bonny Doon.
People from the Santa Cruz area, as well as around the U-S and Canada, paid their respects to the man known to his students as Babaji. Next month, his ashes will be placed into the Ganges River in India.
