The update on cases of covid-19 in the tri-county area is as follows….
- In Monterey county, 58 people have died, and 487 people have been Of those, 28 people are currently hospitalized, and 16 of them are in the I.C.U.
- In Santa Cruz county, 7 people have died, and 123 people have been 10 of those are currently hospitalized, and 3 are in the I.C.U.
- In San Benito county, 8 people have 4 people are currently hospitalized, and 2 of those are in the I.C.U.
Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties are all in the purple tier of the Blueprint For A Safer Economy, meaning many non-essential indoor businesses operations are closed. The county needs to meet the appropriate criteria for three weeks before moving up to the red tier.
