43 Percent of the Monterey County Jail inmates tested so far for Covid-19 have been positive. Currently there are at least 180 inmates with the virus, and 9 staff members. 4 inmates have been moved to hospitals, and 2 of the 9 staff members have returned to work. testing is reportedly taking place there each day.
There are currently NO reported cases of Covid-19 in either Salinas Valley State Prison, or the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad.
