he Carmel man charged with attempted murder in connection with the bludgeoning of his landlord is facing enhancements. 63 year old Marc Cross, a well known surfer in the area, is alleged to have to have beaten 62 year old Karen Jones so severely on January 27th that she remains unresponsive. On Friday prosecutors filed enhancements which could add 5 years to a possible 5 to 15 years in prison if Cross is convicted. Bail has been set at 1-Million dollars. Cross is due back in court march 13th.
