Capitola police arrested two men on Friday. Shortly after 4 p.m. police received a report of a possible drug deal in progress in the DMV parking lot. Upon arrival patrol units were unable to locate the suspect vehicle, however a community serve officer located it nearby in the CVS parking lot on 41st Avenue. Officers detained the suspects while a drug sniffing K-9 unit was brought in to assist uncovering almost 40 grams of methamphetamine packaged for sale hidden in the engine compartment. Officers also recovered stolen property, taken from an elderly woman’s vehicle at the DMV. 38 year old Mike Day, and 55 year old Lonnie Geist were booked into county jail on drug possession with sales intent and stolen property charges.
