Cali Hospitals 6/5/20 8a Ci

It’s a sad state of financial affairs for California hospitals. During the first wave of the pandemic the state’s hospitals lost at least 3-point-two billion dollars.

In the first month of shelter-in-place orders, California hospitals saw a 50-percent loss in revenue as they made preparations for a flood of patients, bought new equipment and cancelled non emergency procedures.

A spokesman for public policy at u-s-c says it will take a long time for hospitals to recover from the economic impact of the Coronavirus
