Students in the California State University system will be paying more for college next year after a vote to raise tuition fees was passed today. The CSU Board of Trustees approved a plan to increase tuition for undergraduate, graduate and credential programs by 15.5% by next fall. The fee hikes come in an effort to offset deep cuts in state funding which have led to staff furloughs, fewer courses and enrollment reductions. Tuition is said to rise by 5% in the winter and spring terms, and another 10% by next fall.
