Cal-Fresh, which is California’s version of the federal S.N.A.P. program, will be issuing the February benefits tomorrow….and its 4 million recipients are encouraged to budget those funds accordingly, so that they last throughout ALL of February. Cal-Fresh workers are doing that because they will lose access to Federal monies as the partial government shutdown continues. The State Department Of Social Services is awaiting Federal guidance on how Cal-Fresh benefits will be funded in March. Cal-Fresh recipients, who needed to re-certify this month, and did not do so by today (January 15th , 2019), will not receive the early benefits.
