On Monday, the 8 National Forests in Southern California were temporarily closed, and yesterday it was announced that all 18 National Forests would temporarily close as of 5 p.m. last night. A spokesperson for the U.S. Forest Service said the decision was made to temporarily close the forests to the public due to the wildfires in California. Regional Forester Randy Moore said “the forests will remains closed until the conditions improve and we are confident that National Forest visitors can recreate safely,”
