An Assembly Bill, that is designed to help restore butterfly and pollinator habitat (in various portions of California), has been approved by the Senate Natural Resources Committee. Among other creatures, AB-2421 could help California’s iconic Monarch Butterfly, which scientists say may otherwise go extinct within the next 20 years. If approved, the bill would establish the Monarch & Pollinator Rescue Program and would coordinate efforts to restore breeding (and over-wintering habitat) throughout the Monarch’s range. The bill will next be considered by the Senate Appropriations Committee.
