Water shot at least 20 feet into the air this evening, after a vehicle hit a Salinas fire hydrant. The driver reportedly swerved into the hydrant while trying to avoid another vehicle. The 8 p.m. incident occurred near the North Davis Road Costco. No one was injured in the incident.
