With the changing of seasons, birds are busy migrating across the globe.
Jeff Manker, bird educator, shares what bird rests just outside the KSCO Studios…
“The Baird’s Sandpiper in Corcoran Lagoon right behind the station here, just a week ago, they rest high up in the artic. Some of them go all the way to the tip of South America. And so they go from temperate to temperate, but they cross the equator, the tropic zones, and they’ll stop along the way for food sources along the way, including the beaches of Santa Cruz and Monterey”, Manker said.
The Baird’s Sandpiper is a small shorebird with long wings extending beyond the tail tip.
