(07:00) Gilroy – The Santa Clara District Attorneys Office and the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death for 24 year-old Steven Juarez. Officers were dispatched just before 10 p.m. on Sunday to the 7400 block of Chestnut Street, in Gilroy, to reports of a man being in someone’s backyard. When officers arrived Juarez fled on foot. Officers reported that when they made contact with Juarez he was injured and continued to resist arrest. Juarez was pronounced dead a short time later after being transported to an area hospital.
