(07:35) Carmel Valley – Carmel Valley air quality has been categorized as “unhealthy” by the Monterey Bay Air Resources District. People in the area are being advised to stay indoors with windows and doors closed and to reduce outdoor physical activity. Vineyards may also be affected by the smoke. The grapes are in process of verasion, when the grapes turn from green to red. Growers’ won’t be able to determine if the grapes have been damaged until they are sent to the labs for testing. So far one vineyard has been destroyed, Big Sur Vineyards (located on Palo Colorado Road) the other 200 vineyards in Carmel Valley remain standing.
