(18:30) SALINAS – A project funded by Dorothy’s Place and the City Of Salinas has run into a financial snag. They need 50 thousand dollars to be able to get a new health services center up and running in Salinas. The 24-hour restroom and shower facility will be located in the heart of Chinatown, in a building that used to be a nightclub. The facility will also be used to provide other services to the homeless as well. The end goal of the facility would be to help get homeless people off the street. An open house is being held next Tuesday (September 6th) from 10:00 a-m to 1:00 p-m in hopes of getting people to come out and see what Dorothy’s Place hopes to accomplish. Donations to this project can be made to Dorothy’s Place. Along with the 50 thousand more they need to complete the remodel of the building, the facility is expected to cost about 350 thousand dollars a year to operate.
