(1011) SALINAS- A man was fatally shot in Salinas on Friday. Shortly before 11:30 p.m. police responded to the 700 block of Garner Avenue to reports of a shooting victim. At the scene officers located a 37 year old male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Witness accounts say the man had gone to his vehicle when he was shot by two armed assailants. Although the victim was not associative with any gangs investigators believe the attackers may have been gang members.
