(08:00) Monterey – Cal Fire reported this morning (Friday) The Soberanes fire that is burning in Big Sur is now over 91,100 acres and is still 60 percent contained. Now that the fire is mostly presiding in the forest, Cal Fire will be cutting back their resources and the U.S. Forest Service will be taking over fire operations. Cal Fire reassured residents at the community meeting last night (Thursday) that they will still be present. Evacuation orders remains in effect for Coast Ridge Road from mile marker 1.5 to Marble Peak at the end of the road.
