An attempted robbery at a Salinas McDonald’s Tuesday night triggered an “active shooter” response from police. After failing the robbery attempt, the suspect threw a rock through a glass window, sound dispatchers may have mistaken for gunfire.
Concern about possible injuries and hostages led to a response from Salinas police, the CHP, and the sheriff’s department.
KSBW television reports that no one was injured in the attack and that no gun was used by the suspect, who was taken into custody.
