The C-H-P is investigating a hit and run that left a family dog dead. The incident happened on Spreckles Drive in Aptos shortly after 1 p-m on Saturday where a pick up truck struck and killed a dog being walked off the shoulder of the road. The vehicle also struck a retaining wall and a passing vehicle before fleeing the area. The driver, 54 year old Eric Brandenburg turned himself in the following day. The incident is under investigation.
