(06:45) SALINAS – Police are investigating an attempted robbery and stabbing that occurred in Salinas early Tuesday morning. Officials say a 23-year-old was walking near Rico and Casentini streets around midnight when he was approached by a man armed with knife. The man stabbed the victim in the back before demanding money. The victim punched his assailant and a brief struggle ensued. The assailant then ran away on Rico Street toward Rossi Street. The victim was treated for a minor stab wound and cut on his hand. Anyone with information is to contact Salinas police. (S.G.)
