(07:24) SANTA CRUZ – Caltrans officials will be holding a meeting in Santa Cruz on Wednesday to discuss a project on Highway 17. The open forum will address the proposed widening of the highway at the Pasatiempo exit. The project will aim to improve the safety of southbound traffic exiting Highway 17 to southbound Highway 1. The proposal asks for the construction of a retaining wall and to widen the shoulder 10 feet. The forum will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Branciforte Middle School. Caltrans is also accepting public comment through April 15. (S.G.)
