(11:50) MONTEREY- The missing head of the Junipero Serra statue has been recovered. The head had been missing since October of last year when the statue was vandalized at the Lower Presidio Park. Monterey police say the head was found by a girl near a tide pool. A family member recognized it and called authorities. Investigators will keep the head as evidence in an active case, but say it will be renunited with the statue at a later date.
