(07:51) SALINAS – Salinas officials have approved plans to bring back a community fireworks show. The decision comes nearly a year after the city council voted to ban all fireworks within city limits. The ban included Safe and Sane fireworks, which were sold locally to raise money for a number of non-profit organizations. City officials have decided to allow an annual fireworks show at the rodeo grounds, with ticket proceeds going to the non-profits that previously relied on fireworks sales. Residents will still have the opportunity to vote on whether or not Safe and Sane fireworks should be allowed within city limits in the June primary election. (S.G.)
