Advisory from Watsonville PD: Message to our Watsonville community regarding potentially violent protest
To our Watsonville community,
We have received unverified information that a potentially violent protest may occur at the Overlook Shopping Center later today.
We want you to know that we take all threats to our community seriously and we will be prepared for any potential violence. Please help us by staying away from the area. Out of an abundance of caution, our officers, with help from other law enforcement agencies, will also be monitoring other commercial areas in town.
Your Watsonville Police Department will ALWAYS support your right to peacefully protest and the Watsonville community has not let us down. However, we will not tolerate violence and destruction to our community and local businesses.
