Volunteers with the Central Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross are heading east, to provide relief to those who’s lives were uprooted by this week’s hurricane. 2 people have died, and many towns have been damaged, as the result of Hurricane Michael…..which is now headed further into the Carolinas.
As of 8:30 a.m. Eastern time today, the total number of customers without power in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas has topped 900-thousand……according to PowerOutage.us.
An 80-mile stretch of Interstate 10 was closed this morning, as the Florida Highway Patrol worked to clear debris from the roadway. The closure impacted a stretch of the freeway from west of Tallahassee to Lake Seminole.
