A Press conference in Salinas yesterday (Thursday) announced that the U.S. Department of Justice will over see a reform of the city’s police force. At the event the DOJ’s Community, Oriented Policing Services or COPS has accepted a request by the police department to consult on improving relations between the community and law enforcement in the wake of four officer involved fatal shootings. COPS will now begin a two year review of department policy.
