Evacuations remain in place in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. The website to check for if an evacuation order is in place in Santa Cruz county is community.zonehaven.com, and in monterey county people can google Monterey County Evacuation Map. Only 1 of the temporary evacuation sites will remain open tonight in Santa Cruz county, and that’s the one at San Lorenzo Valley High School, which served about 500 people yesterday and last night. In Monterey county evacuation centers have been set up at Toro Park School on Portola Drive in Salinas, at Chualar Union Elementary School on Lincoln Street in Chualar, at the Carmel Valley Library, which is located at 65 West Carmel Valley Road. These centers are scheduled to remain open 24 hours a day.
American Red Cross staff are on-hand on each site to assist evacuees.
For support in large animal evacuations, call S.P.C.A. For Monterey County or Santa Cruz County S.P.C.A, depending on which county the animals are in.
