The Spirit Halloween store in Salinas is packed with party decorations and costumes, but the number of customers in the store has been scarce, according to media reports.
Besides some people who plan on hitting the streets for tricks and treats, many parents along the Central Coast say they already have stay-at-home plans for this year, including candy hunts, piñatas, family pumpkin carvings, and scary movie nights.
Santa Cruz County Health Department says they are currently focused on wildfire efforts and do not have an answer right now about a county health order for Halloween. The Monterey County Health Department and the San Benito Health Department also says they are not ready to make a statement yet about Halloween.
