HOMICIDE
On September 1st, 2020 at approximately 6:43PM, deputies and medics responded to the 700 block of Heath Cove, Santa Cruz, to the report of a stabbing. First responders found an 80-year-old man in the residence with a stab wound to his neck. The man was transported to Dominican Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Deputies located 28-year-old Phillip Talyansky, the victim’s grandson, at the residence. Phillip was arrested and booked into the county jail for PC 187(a) (murder), PC 368(b)(1) (elder abuse that results in great bodily injury or death), and PC 242 (battery).
