A bank robbery suspect was arrested near Santa Cruz on Friday. At about 2 p-m police responded to to a bank robbery in progress at Wells Fargo on River Street. The suspect fled the scene in a stolen car and was apprehended by Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputies apprehended 24-year-old Fernando Gomez. Gomez was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on multiple charges. 9 thousand dollars was recovered at the time of his arrest.
