Things may be looking up for California’s unemployed workforce. Workers filed fewer first time claims for unemployment last week and that marks the second straight drop in the pace of filings. The labor department reported some 229,000 workers filed for unemployment during the week that ended August 1st… that’s down 16,000 from the week before.
