Santa Cruz County Health Officer Dr. Gail Newel was part of a press conference where she announced that the county is on its way to the state governor’s watch list.
“We could again flatten the curve, and all it takes is for every member of the community to follow the simple social distancing requirements.”, she said.
Newel went on to stress the importance of 5 key measures to “flattening the curve”
- Wear your face covering when unable to remain 6 feet from people outside your household
- Frequently wash your hands
- Stay home if feeling ill
- Keep 6 feet away from those outside of your household
- Cover your cough and sneezes
“The pandemic would be over in 4-to-6 weeks. We’d be done. The economy could fully reopen again”, stated Newel after mentioning the above social distancing guidelines.
