The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s office has reported making a fire arms arrest. At around 9pm on Saturday deputies responded to a report of a bullet going into a home on Miller Avenue. The bullet came within inches of a 10-year-old girl. An investigation determined a neighbor, Douglas Paz had been shooting a gun at the ground to celebrate the holiday when a bullet ricocheted into the nearby home. A search warrant was executed at Paz’s home 3 firearms were recovered including the revolver that was used. Paz was booked into the main jail for Negligent discharge of a firearm and Resisting Arrest .
